MERTECH 8520 P2D Mirror Black is a new generation stationary 2D scanner for cash registers, shops, pharmacies, gas stations and other enterprises with an intensive flow of customers. The model performs up to 350 scans per second, recognizes linear and two-dimensional barcodes and is suitable for working with the Honest Sign and USAIS systems.

The MERTECH 8520 combines high speeds of up to 350 scans/sec, wide coverage angle of 50° × 35°, automatic reading and support for USB-HID and USB-COM in one device. The scanner quickly recognizes Data Matrix, QR Code, PDF417 and other 1D and 2D codes, including poorly printed and located on complex surfaces.

The MERTECH 8520 is based on a 2D Image module with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels. The reading range reaches 210 mm, and the minimum barcode resolution is 4 mil. The scanner works with contrast codes starting from 25% and confidently recognizes them when tilted to ±65°, deflected to ± 60° and rotated 360°.

The wide scanning area allows the cashier to spend less time on precise positioning of the product. The device supports automatic mode: it is enough to bring the barcode to the reading area so that the scanner recognizes it without pressing the buttons. A successful operation is confirmed by an audible and visual indication.

The MERTECH 8520 recognizes the main formats used in trade and commodity accounting:

• 1D codes: UPC, EAN, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Code 11, GS1 DataBar, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5 and others;
• 2D codes: Data Matrix, QR Code, MicroQR, PDF417, MicroPDF417, Aztec, Maxicode, Hanxin;
• Honest Sign marking system codes;
• barcodes for working with USAIS;
• codes that are damaged, lack sufficient contrast, and are located on complex surfaces.

The red LED backlight provides a clearly visible reading area and helps to work stably with labels and codes on mobile device screens.

Convenient integration and reliability

The MERTECH 8520 supports USB-HID and USB-COM emulation, and RS-232 connectivity is optional. Thanks to this, the scanner can be integrated with cash register and accounting software, including 1C, VLSI, EVOTOR and other trade automation solutions.

The device's functionality can be flexibly configured using control barcodes. The possibility of remote administration simplifies the maintenance of the scanner fleet in enterprises with a large number of cash desks.

The case is made of ABS plastic and polycarbonate and conforms to the IP54 protection class. The scanner can withstand multiple falls from a height of 1.5 m. The operating temperature range is from 0 to +50 °C, and the storage temperature is -40 to +70 °C.

The compact dimensions of 147 × 83 × 80 mm and the weight of 270 g make it possible to place the MERTECH 8520 even in the limited space of the cash register area. The kit includes a scanner, a 205 cm long USB Type-A cable, instructions, warranty card and packaging.
