This interface cable can be used to connect a barcode scanner via the RS-232 connector. The accessory is compatible with almost all MERTECH scanners.
The RS-232 port is used on older models of computers and specialized equipment. Like the more common USB interface, it is designed to connect peripheral devices to the central device. Using this port frees up a slot for other devices.
